FIRST SAL POST OF 2019 HAPPY NEW YEAR

I have been stitching a lot the past 3 weeks. I am still working on Sundae Delight which is my rotation piece for January. I got tired of the enormous banana on the bottom so I have been working my way up the left side. I usually do that first as I like to make sure my fabric is big enough before I stitch to much. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Looks like I'm okay though.

Here is where I was at the last update.  And where I am now.

For some reason blogger is being anal about letting me type under the photos so I will just have to do everything backwards.

I am doing this SAL with a lot of very talented stitchers. Please hop on over to their blogs to see the amazing projects they are doing.

Also want to welcome Mary Margaret back from her hiatus and welcome to two new members Renee and Jenny.

LAST SAL UPDATE FOR 2018

Wow did this year go fast. Seems like it was just January a few days ago. I am prepared for 2019 I think:

I have decided on my 2019 rotation. I have 3 focus pieces that will be stitched on every other month as they are for my kids. The Universe in a Jar, Play Ball and Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate. Also every Saturday will be Hawk Run Hollow SAL we are doing at my LNS.
Jan: Sundae Delight.
Feb: Play Ball.
March: Computer Catastrophes.
April: Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate.
May: Afternoon Tea
June: The Universe in a Jar
July: Reading by Firefly Light.
August: Play Ball.
Sept: Boo
Oct: Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate.
Nov: Astronomer
Dec: The Universe in a Jar.

What is everyone else planning for stitching in 2019?

As for my SAL update. I got quite a bit of stitching done this month. I even had a page finish.

Last time we got together it looked like this.

Now it looks like this and is being put away because I'm tired of it for now so am starting my January piece a little early.

Next time we get together in January this is the piece you will see.

SAL TIME AGAIN.

Where does the time go. Now that I'm retired I am lucky to know what day of the week it is. These 3 week posts keep me in the loop as far as time is concerned.

I made good progress on Chocolate Chocolate and More Chocolate this time. Unfortunately it is December so the next project in the rotation came out yesterday.

Last time you saw CC&MC it looked like this.

When I put it away it looked like this.

Not the best angle but hopefully you can see the progress on the top of the top cupcake.

My December project is The Universe in a Jar. I really needed a change from all that brown. LOL.

Here is a full picture and then where I started on it yesterday.

Hopefully I will make more progress before the next update on Dec 23.

Please be sure to hop over and see what my fellow SAL mates are stitching. They are a very talented group of stitchers.

Also if you would like to join us here is info about the SAL

This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL. If you’d like to finish a project you’ve left unfinished for a while, or start a new one with us, you can join us by contacting Avis fromSewing Beside the Sea.

See you all next time.

SAL UPDATE

It's that time of the month again. I was lazy last time and did not post an update. Bad me.

I have finally settled on a rotation for my over abundance of WIPS. I stitched on The Astronomer for the entire month of October. Then on November 1st I switched to Chocolate Chocolate and More Chocolate. On December 1st I will switch again to The Universe in a Jar. I think they deserve a month each.

So here is where I left off on The Astronomer. Loads of confetti so It doesn't look like much progress but I am happy with the months stitching.

Then on November 1st I picked this up.

I have made really good progress so far. Mostly because we already have snow so I'm not leaving the house much.

Here is today's starting point.

There is a lot of frosting on that cupcake LOL.

Please go check out the other great stitching being done by the members of this SAL and if you would like to join us contact Avis for details.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? SAL UPDATE

I managed to stick to one project for the entire month of September and I made good progress on it also. It helped that I signed up for a couple of challenges on one of my FB groups. Here is where I was the last SAL update:

And here is where I am now. Full picture and today's starting point.

SAL UPDATE

No progress on the other 2 projects I  posted about last time. Had a great visit with my son and his girlfriend. Lots of laughter and remembering. They have now gone home till next summer. Wish they were closer.
After they left I looked at the  2 WIPS I should be working on but they were silent and trying to hide in the closet so what to do. Well get out another WIP that was yelling loudly that I hadn't touched it for a long time.

This is Sanctuary of Knowledge. Randal Spangler HAED. Do you see a trend here? He is my favorite HAED artist. Love his little dragons.

Where I started when I picked it up.

Where it is now.

Hopefully it will keep my interest for the next 3 weeks.

Be sure to stop over and check out all of the other talented stitchers in this SAL. They are doing some amazing stitching.

JUST A QUICKIE THIS TIME.

I really didn't work exclusively on my SAL project. I did make some progress. I switched out again in the middle of the 3 week cycle. (bad me).

Last time.

And now.

Then I switched to this. I should learn not to touch memories on Facebook. Gets me in trouble everytime.

I'm hopeless at stitching on just one thing at a time.

My son just arrived for a 2 week visit so I'm not sure how much progress I will have for next time.

Don't for get to stop & check out what all the other talented stitchers in this SAL are working on.
