IHSW Progress

I made good progress on Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate. Finished the piece of the book next to the cat's head & started filling in on the cat's face. Hope to get at least one eye done on this round of rotation.

Just a short one

Just a short update today. Wanted to show progress on The Astronomer by Myles Pinkney. He has been put away now and until Oct 25 I will be working on Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate by Randal Spangler. Then on Oct 25 silly me will be starting another SAL with one of my FB groups. We are doing a LOTR SAL. I will be starting Gandalf by Tom Cross. (HAED of course.) Oct 25 was chosen for the start as that is the day that Frodo started his adventure.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I'm Bacccccccck

Wow it has been awhile since my last post. Sorry about that. I have been contacted by a couple of people to tell me I haven't posted since July. I think about posting every Sunday and then I pick up my stitching and posting just goes out the window. Nothing really exciting going on here. Just the same ole go to work, come home, go back to work. I have been managing a fair amount of stitching though. I have started stitching on my lunch hour at work. I have 3 small (for me anyway) projects that I rotate at work. Also I have a new work shift 10am to 7pm which I love so I have stitchy time in the morning. This is a good thing because a lot of the time I am too tired to stitch at night. I have mostly recovered from the pneumonia but now DH has it. Why are men such babies when they are sick. Geez rub some dirt on it and carry on. He is on the road to recovery now though.
Speaking of DH we just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. I can't believe I haven't smothered him yet. Nothing major just lunch out as I took the day off work.
He has also not done much on his Legos or stitching this summer he is starting to get back to them. No stitching yet but he has built a couple of Lego things.
All the pets are doing well. I was trying to get a picture of Elvira for this post but she would not cooperate. I will post a picture I took last week.
Okay enough boring you. Time for pictures. Lots of pictures. In no particular order since I don't feel like fighting with blogger today.

Blog Hop Time Again

"Some of us have a favorite chair that we sit in to stitch, others prefer to enjoy a steaming mug of tea while they stitch. Maybe you need to get comfortable and put on your pajamas before you pick up your needle or you simply must rearrange all the sofa pillows before you sit down. Sometimes the ritual is in the clean up when we’re done and everything must go in a certain place. What sort of stitching rituals do you have when you sit down to work on your projects?"

I don't really have a ritual. I do like to have everything in it's proper place when I stitch. It just makes it easier to reach out & pick up my scissors without looking up. I have my stitching area set up so that I really don't have to do much when I sit down to stitch. It is just my husband and I now that the kids are gone so no one messes with my stuff & I can leave it set up when I'm not working on it.

HELLO

Oopsy I haven't updated for a while. Bad me. In my own defense I have been stitching a lot & I have gone back to work.
Since I have discovered my handy dandy mag eyes I am even able to stitch on my lunch hour at work. Yeah.
Since my HAED's are too large to work on at work I have started a new project Bhyr Deese by Long Dog Samplers. Love it.

On the home front I have been stitching on Train of Dreams by Randal Spangler. Hoping to make significant progress before I put it away in favor of the next one. Computer Catastrophes has been yelling rather loudly lately so it will probably come out to play pretty soon. Here are the latest pictures of TOD.

Hope everyone has a wonderful stitchy week.
Keep cool

Tagged

Beth Pearce from http://bethsblogger-beth.blogspot.com has tagged me in the getting to know you game.
The rules are you answer the eleven questions asked you and then you tag eleven more bloggers and ask them eleven questions.  I am pretty sure I can answer the questions, and I can probably tag eleven other bloggers, but I will TRY to come up with eleven more questions to ask. So here goes...

1.)  Ice Cream, cake or cookies - which do you like best and why? I am a cake person because it has frosting.

2) When you stitch, do you sit at a table or on a recliner, or just where? I have a stitching chair in the living room. I also have a tv tray in front of it to hold my chart, markers etc while I stitch.

 3) Do you like to travel and if so by car, bus, train or plane? I used to like to travel but have health issues now that limit me. If we travel it is usually by car. Would love to travel by train also.

 4) Where would you like to visit the most? I would love to go to Australia & New Zealand.

5) If you have children, do they do any crafts and which ones? My oldest daughter is a cross stitcher & my youngest daughter likes to do beading.

6) What is your most favorite memory from childhood? Spending the summers at my aunt & uncles horse ranch.

 7) Do you have a dream goal?  Either in stitching or in life? I would love to finish one of my HAED's that I have in my rotation.

8) Do you have a group of friends that you stitch with and if so, how often? There is a group of us who meet at our LNS once a month. Every other month we do a 12 hour stitchin on a Saturday. The other month we do a Last Friday & meet after work.

9) Do you like music, and if so what is your favorite kind / musician? I like old time Rock & Roll. My favorites are Aerosmith, Elton John, & Billy Joel.

10) What is your favorite color, and do you wear it often? My favorite color is any shade of purple. No I don't wear it as often as I would like

11) What is your favorite season and why? Autumn is my favorite season. I love the crisp days & all of the wonderful colors that we get here in New England.

Okay. Now for my 11 bloggers.

Now for the questions.

1. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
2. What is your favorite comfort food?
3. If married how long have you been married?
4. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
5. What is your favorite TV show?
6. Who is your favorite actor/actress?
7. What kind of movies to you enjoy (horror, romance, action)?
8.What do you do for a living?
9. Who is our favorite designer (you can only pick 1)?
10. What kind of books do you like to read?
11. Does your DH or SO have a hobby (if so what is it)?

There that isn't too hard. Can't wait to see your answers.

Happy Father's Day

Good morning,

The sun is shining & it is 60 degrees F here. Love this weather. We are supposed to be in the high 90's by Wednesday. Yuck. Don't like really hot.
I have made good progress on The Astronomer by Myles Pinkney. This piece is the one that started my obsession with HAED. I started the piece in Feb of 2010 & stitched on it exclusively for several months until I saw Train of Dreams by Randal Spangler & fell in love with the Draglets. Thus began my rotation. There are now 11 pieces(all HAED) in the rotation so work on The Astronomer really slowed down. BUT this week I had a first with any of my HAED's. I FINISHED AN ENTIRE FULL PAGE. YEAH ME. I have finished partial pages but never a full page. I had been procrastinating on this page finish because it was heavy confetti stitching This week I put on my big girl panties & finished Page 1.LOL. I will be continuing on with page 2 this coming week.
Jim has not been stitching this week. Another Star Fighter has been built instead.
Now for the pictures.

Before

After

Of course it wouldn't be complete with out my stitching assistant. This stitching is exhausting you know

And last but not least The Y-Wing Star Fighter
See you all next week.

Recovery & Progress

What a beautiful day today. After a week of gray skies & rain yesterday & today are beautiful. Bright sunshine & 80 degrees with a slight breeze. I spent most of the day yesterday on the front porch with my stitching. Love being able to sit outside & stitch. I made great progress on Midieval Shelf the past two weeks but now it is time to put it away & give some love to the piece that started my obsession with HAED.  I haven't touched The Astronomer by Myles Pinkney since Dec 10,2011. A whole 5 months. Shame on me. In my defense it is confetti heavy but for the next couple of weeks it will get my undivided attention.
I am beginning to feel better. Now I just need to build up my stamina. I am out of work for 2 more weeks so hope recovery continues.
Jim didn't stitch again this past week but he does have a finish. When our kids were small we had a Volkswagon camper van. Lego has come out with one so of course Jim had to build it. I am amazed at the detail in the piece.
This post is picture heavy so enjoy.

First up is Midieval Shelf

Next is The Astronomer

Last but not least is the Lego Volkswagon Camper Van

Until next week Happy Stitching.

Virtual Stitchin & Progress

I am feeling better but the Dr is keeping me home until 6/25. Oh well I guess I'll just have to stitch to keep myself occupied. I had a lot of progress on Midieval Shelf by Randal Spangler this past week.
For the Virtual Stitchin on my ILCS group I did over 400 stitches yesterday. Hopefully I can keep this up & make some good progress.
Jim hasn't been stitching for the past couple of weeks but I have a picture of what has been occupying his time.

Jim's Project

Till next time I will bid you adieu. I must get back to my stitching.

It's another BLOG HOP

Do you set stitching goals for yourself and how do you plan them out? (Weekly, monthly, annually?) What are your current stitching goals (if you don’t mind sharing)?
In addition to setting goals for yourself, do you have a special reward that you reserve for when you reach a stitching goal?

I don't really set stitching goals for myself as I am notoriously bad at meeting deadlines. This is also why I do not participate in exchanges and such. I do like to see progress on my stitching though so I will say to myself "Self, you need to finish this section today or you can take a break when this section is done."  That usually works for me. I stitch more for the pleasure of the journey & could really not care if I finish anything so goals are not a big deal to me.

Happy Memorial Day

This will not be a very long post today. Since I have been sick all week with pneumonia I haven't done as much stitching as I would like. I did stitch some every day but not much. Still I have now stitched all the way across the bottom row of Reading by Firefly Light. I didn't quite finish the last two pages but I am close. Problem is I am now bored with it so am switching projects today. I went & looked at all the projects in my rotation & Midieval Shelf was yelling the loudest so that is what I will be working on this week.
Someone asked me to add photos of the what the different projects will look like when finished so from now on I will try to remember to add the photos of the cover pictures.

Hope everyone has a fun & safe Memorial Day.
