HAED Rotation

Good Morning It's Sunday Again

I have been stitching on Universe in a Jar-Randal Spangler (HAED) this past week. I have been enjoying it so much that I have decided to keep it out for at least another week. Blows my rotation slightly but what can I do. I'm hooked on it right now. The others will still be there when I'm over my obsession with this particular one.

Thanks to all that voted about my April 1st start. It will be Village Bookstore which won by a landslide. I'm getting excited about starting that one now but don't have the fabby yet so can't.

My husband Jim who is retired also stitches & Bob shamed him into starting an HAED on April 1st also.He will be stitching Echo of the Buffalo. (picture will follow). Jim also does Legos as a hobby & I have included a picture of his latest finish & the one he is starting today. Also included is a picture of the cross stitch he is working on right now. (excuse the hoop marks-I told him to take it off when not working on it but will he listen to me NO.)

I'll quit boring you now & get to the good part. Pictures.

  1. Wow so many cool things to see. Your Universe is really coming along well. That is cool that your DH stitches as well. That grizzley sure looks good. My DS and my DGS are big Lego fans. They have worked together to do some of the big Star Wars projects. DS was at that perfect age when Star Wars first came out, and he is doing his best to brainwash, I mean teach his son to love them.

  2. Cindy, you can always count the extra week on your Universe piece as a Valentine present to yourself. I've started the 10 hour rotation per NoMoreUFOs, and I think that may work well for me. The Village Bookstore is a great choice for April 1st, as is your husband's Echo of the Buffalo. I hope he has fun with his Legos, too. Theresa

  4. Thought for a moment that your lovely DH had discovered your *secret* stash but realise it is his own stash of different stuff, lol! So when is he joining Friendly Stitchers or don't you want him to know just how MEAN you are to certain Anglo/Americans? Would love to drop in one day for a few insults, so be warned! Look forward to the Village Bookstore progress, hugs xx
PS Star Wars was the first movie First Treasure ever saw, way back when we lived in Kent and Second Treasure was furious that she wasn't deemed old enough to go!

  5. That is great that your husband stitches with you. He is doing an awesome job. He looks so overwhelmed in the picture looking at all the legos. I can't wait to see you start Village Bookstore. I want to buy that sooo bad but I can't.

  6. Nice progress there Cindy. I remember my brother having lego when he was small and I was always building things with it and then I visited Legoland in Denmark (the original one!) and was amazed at what they could do with those little bricks. Look forward to seeing your progress next week! Hugs, Ally xx

  7. As always, Cindy - great progress pix! You're quite a Spangler finatic! I only have one of his - I think it's Autumn Splendor or something like that. It's a Victorian house like Village Bookstore, but I have no plans to start any time soon. I look forward to seeing your progress on it whenever!

  8. Wow, great progress! I love the Spangler designs, although I've yet to start one, but they are firmly on my "to-do" list. Great choice on the new start, they were all nice though.

    Love the lego creations!

  9. Love that your husband stitches as well. My Dad took up cross stitch when he was over 75 years old and stitched quite a few masterpieces. I think I would like to do the Lego as well

  12. You should be thankful hubby doesn't try to abscond with your Q-snaps -you'd be needing replacement grippy things before you could say "don't leave your grizzly trapped in my[q]snaps ..." at least the hoop mark should come out with a little gentle encouragement.
Great progress on your Universe in a Jar - I think you are allowed to keep working on those pieces that won't let you put them away... your rotation won't know any different (at least for a while).
