HAED Rotation

Happy Father's Day

Good morning,

The sun is shining & it is 60 degrees F here. Love this weather. We are supposed to be in the high 90's by Wednesday. Yuck. Don't like really hot.
I have made good progress on The Astronomer by Myles Pinkney. This piece is the one that started my obsession with HAED. I started the piece in Feb of 2010 & stitched on it exclusively for several months until I saw Train of Dreams by Randal Spangler & fell in love with the Draglets. Thus began my rotation. There are now 11 pieces(all HAED) in the rotation so work on The Astronomer really slowed down. BUT this week I had a first with any of my HAED's. I FINISHED AN ENTIRE FULL PAGE. YEAH ME. I have finished partial pages but never a full page. I had been procrastinating on this page finish because it was heavy confetti stitching This week I put on my big girl panties & finished Page 1.LOL. I will be continuing on with page 2 this coming week.
Jim has not been stitching this week. Another Star Fighter has been built instead.
Now for the pictures.

Before

After

Of course it wouldn't be complete with out my stitching assistant. This stitching is exhausting you know

And last but not least The Y-Wing Star Fighter
See you all next week.

  1. Congrats on your progress. Beautiful stitching! The colors are beautiful, so confetti stitching was good for something.

    1. Thank you Dulcinella. Yes it is good to be able to see what all the confetti stitching produced.

    1. It's not hard unless they all start yelling at once. They are pretty resigned to the fact that they only get a week or two at a time & then have to give way to the next one. They only really start yelling when they sense I am getting bored with the current one. Then they all vie for attention.LOL

  3. Great stitching progress. Those confetti stitches can be a pain but so worth it when they are done. I like the fighter too.

  7. Fantastic on completing a full page Cindy!!! Most of my pieces also have a heavy amount of confetti in them so what I do is have a mixture among my projects of a few simpler designs to give my eyes and brain and focus a little break and work on the simpler stuff to feed my need to keep stitching but between the bigger confetti rich projects. This method usually helps me to really be more willing to do all those confetti stitches because they are so opposite of the simpler projects.

    1. Thanks Ann. I usually switch between confetti sections & large areas of one color on the project as they sometimes have both. If not I switch to a project that is not in the confetti stage at the moment.

  8. Congratulations on finishing a full page!! The Astronomer looks fantastic, the detail is gorgeous! Which is why the confetti is such a pain. Great week of stitching!

  9. Congrats on your page finish! When you stitch a HAED, this is like finishing a full design (or more) of most other charts. Jim's Star Wars toys look like fun, too.

  12. Cindy,

Congrats on your first page finish on a HAED! So far, I've only finished one HAED (it's small by their standards) but I do have several pages finished on 5 other HAEDs.

  14. Well done Cindy!
Yes stitching for such assistants does seem to weary them somewhat.
    Great Star fighter!
