FOCUS FAIL SAL UPDATE.

And again I have failed. I lost all interest in The Astronomer and wasn't stitching so I put him away looking like this

Then I decided to pull out Play Ball HAED Randal Spangler and work on that while I watched the World Series. Got some good progress but the the flitter bug hit again and I put that away looking like this.

While wandering through my huge stash of started HAED's I happened upon this one and it really yelled at me so out it came. I have been stitching on it now for two days and have made some good progress. I just wish I could stick with a project like you guys do. Oh well it is what it is and they all get some love.

So again I'm not promising that I will be able to stick with this but I will give it a good try. One of these days I'll hit on the ONE. Someone at one time told me that I am a process stitcher and that is why I don't get finishes. I like the stitching but not the finish.

Please make sure to check out the other talented stitchers I am doing this SAL with. They do amazing work and they even manage to stick with a project and get it done. Also we are welcoming Connie back to the SAL after a short break.

  1. Cindy I'm so impressed that you can jump between projects -- and that you have so many in your stash! (Actually, wait, I have that issue too... ;) ) Enjoy stitching whichever project for however long you like. We'll cheer you on regardless!

  2. You're still stitching something and that's what matters. The only way I can stick with a project right to the end is by putting all other projects away and that means out of sight and somewhere not easily accessible. I love to start and finish pieces so it's easy to motivate myself that way. If you're happy to chop and change then that works for you :-)

  5. Heaven and Earth Designs are amazing but very stitch dense, I think. Meanwhile, I had to give up on my project I had started at the beginning...I couldn't get my stitches to lay like I wanted them too. Didn't know if it was me or the linen or what. Anyway, I went on to these Quaker motifs and am much happier with it. Sometime I'll take out the other one and give it another stab, LOL.

  6. I like to flit between stitching projects but when I'm building a quilt I like to stay with it until I have a completed top. We all have to find what works best for us I guess!

  7. Sometimes you need to flit between projects, otherwise you will just stop. And as you do big pieces, it's only natural to need to change it up. I only have one cross-stitch on the go, but I do flit to other crafting mediums x

  8. We all need some variety! I jump between multiple quilts, my stitching and several knitting things. It's just that you stitch, so you jump between stitching projects when you need a change of pace. πŸ™‚

  9. With so many Spangler projects, it has to be tough to stick with just one! Every stitch on each project is closer to a finish. As long as you are enjoying adding those stitches, you're doing great!
